Happy New Year!!!!! We are right in the middle of an exciting design project: an entire home for a client. The house is a traditional four bedroom, three bath ranch on a large piece of property. We’ve named it The Bethesda Bachelor Pad. Our client doesn’t want to worry about a thing. He wants to be able to move in and enjoy a fully designed and functioning home in every detail, right down to soaps in the bathroom. He would like us to to create a cozy “man cave” but at the same time have it be sophisticated and stylish for entertaining. To me the quintessential icon of the modern American bachelor is the Eames Chair and Lounge, so I suggested that we design around this. Design Name: The Bethesda Bachelor Pad The Challenge: To create a cozy “man cave” but at the same time have it be sophisticated and stylish for entertaining. My Recommendations: Design Mix: Mid-century Modern. Traditional. Contemporary. Design Inspiration: The Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman Image source: Herman Miller The Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman are furnishings made of molded plywood and leather, designed by Charles and Ray Eames for the Herman Miller furniture company. They are officially titled Eames Lounge (670) and Ottoman (671) and were released in 1956 after years of development by designers. It was the first chair that the Eameses designed for a high-end market. Examples of these furnishings are part of the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art. - Source Wikipedia What do you think? -Karen

I guess, it's reallt important for you every word your clients want you to do. Of course, you are dealing with a lot of requests and small details because these clients want a good house, that's why you have to be very attentive and make sure that you got all details perfectly before proceeding to the actual building. Designs are very delicate, that's why understanding is really important.
