Hi again everyone!. It’s been a while since my last post; well, years actually. I’ve been navigating my way through this life without Richard, who is forever a part of me. Excitingly, I begin the design install for long-term stay unit for a hotel in Downtown DC next week. I will let you know how it goes. The Design Board is pictured here. They wanted something evoking the city. I thought: “What could be more Washington DC than celebrating our American Heritage?” As you can imagine, it was impossible for me to avoid taking inspiration from Richard’s eloquent interior design of the 1789 restaurant in Georgetown, owned and operated by Clyde’s for decades now. The palette for the project is my interpretation of red, white and blue. To achieve a contemporary and relevant experience for the guests I balance masculine and feminine, modern and traditional, dark and light elements. Let me know what you think!

Karen you are very talented...I am so impressed.... love the colors, especially the print... imo I would include at statement piece of color, maybe the leather chair in dark red or maybe in deep blue. Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving.... forever grateful you are my cuz and my friend. Love you so much...

Hello, Karen! Before anything else I want to congratulate you for the latest project you accomplished. You're a living proof that creativity can let you go places. Now, you're in Downtown, Washington D.C. for a particular project. I don't have any single doubt that you will not impress your clients for this one. You've always been great, especially with color mixing. You sure know how to come up with great artworks through the colors you produce!
